How to fold an origami shirt
The classic banknote shirt. A narrow band becomes the collar, the sleeves fold out at the bottom, and the bottom end folds up, held in place by the collar.
You need: 1 rectangle about 2½ times as long as it is wide (a banknote works). Hard, 8 steps, about 8 minutes.
Steps
- Crease the centre. Fold in half lengthwise, crease, then unfold.
- Turn it over. Flip the paper over.
- Fold the collar band. Fold a narrow strip at the top down.
- Turn it over. Flip it back.
- Edges to the centre. Fold the long edges in to meet at the centre crease.
- Fold out the sleeves. At the bottom, fold the inner corners of both flaps out at an angle.
- Bottom up. Fold the bottom end up until it sits just below the collar band.
- Make the collar. Fold the top corners down so they meet at the centre.
Looking sharp!
Crease the collar firmly: it holds the folded-up bottom in place.
